What to Expect at The GATES MEDICAL CENTRE

Step 1

Scalp and hair analysis

Before starting, patients undergo an initial assessment to determine suitability for treatment.

We discuss goals, medical history, and concerns to customize a treatment plan to work best for your specific concerns.

Step 2

Treatment

Using a combination of HydraFacial Keravive, PRP/PRF injections, and a multiphasic medication approach, each session is brief, requiring only 40-60 minutes. A minimum of three treatments are recommended, spaced out to be one treatment applied every four-six weeks or othwerwise specified by the doctor.

Is this treatment protocol 100% guaranteed to work?

As with any medication, there is no 100% guarantee that it will work for everyone. But what we can say, is that there are clinical, medical trials which show this treatment will definitely grow hair. It will keep what you have and grow your existing hair faster and thicker. When we combine these treatments, we are seeing close to 90% efficacy in our patients. So while we cannot give a 100% guarantee, after an in person consult with you, what we can do is tell you whether you would be a good candidate or not and how much improvement in your hair we can provide.

Please Note: Our Treatment is not suitable for those who are already entirely bald. The ideal candidate has thinning hair and some active hair follicles. Please contact us to see if you are a suitable candidate.

What should be my expectations?

This treatment will stop any thinning that you are currently having. You will see less hair in the shower drain, on pillows, bed sheets, etc. In addition, your existing hair will grow faster and thicker. We expect to get you back to where your hair was 5-10 years ago and keep it there.

Are there any side effects to the medication?

Dr. Bageria chose this medication because of its long history and safe profile. The medication has been around since the 1970s and there are no known major side effects that should be of any concern. Of course, we would need to meet with you better to understand your current medications and your overall health, before we can fully answer the question for you specifically.

Why are you using compounded medication?

Compounding the medication allows us to tailor the strength for each patient. For example, by age, gender, amount of hair loss, etc. So we have the flexibility to prescribe exactly what is needed and then make changes as we go forward and if any changes are required. We can also add vitamins and minerals to make the medication even more effective for hair growth.

How do I know if I'd be e agood candidate?

As long as you have some active hair follicles, this treatment should be effective for you. If you have had no hair growth in certain areas of the scalp for over 6-7 years, then this would not be effective in growing hair in those areas. Emergency appointments are held for infections, fevers, coughs, colds, flues, diaper rashes, strains and sprains, back pain, and migraines. It is important to note that prescription refills are NOT emergency appointments. They are considered planned appointments and it is the patient’s responsibility to know when they will run out of medication and book their appointments accordingly in advance.
